INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle are set to play their first match since being relegated from the Championship on Saturday.

The League One outfit are set to take on Clachnacuddin in their first pre-season match of the 2024/25 campaign when they face each other at Grant Street Park at 2pm.

It comes as Inverness have made two new signings to the squad as they returned to training this week.

Goalkeeper Jack Newman has arrived from Dundee United on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The-22-year-old, progressed through the academy at Sunderland before signing for Dundee United in July 2020. He has had loan spells with The Spartans and Peterhead and has been capped for Scotland at under-21s level.

It was also revealed earlier this week that striker Cameron Ferguson has signed a one-year deal with the club.

Ferguson, who is the son of manager Duncan Ferguson, was released by Newcastle United in January and trained with Inverness Caledonian Thistle last season, but was unable to sign for the club. He signed a short term deal with Highland League club Forres Mechanics last season.

It has also been confirmed academy graduates Keith Bray, Ethan Cairns, Calum Mackay, Matthew Strachan and Robbie Thompson have all signed new deals with the club for the 2024/25 season.

The club have also confirmed that Adam Brooks, Jake Davidson, Danny Devine, Charlie Gilmour, Luis Longstaff, Calum MacLeod, Billy Mckay, Lewis Nicolson, Sam Nixon, Remi Savage, Nikola Ujdur and Jack Walker are signed up for next season.

The club have also said negotiations continue with a number of other players.

However, the future of some players who were out of contract at the end of last season remains in doubt. Goalkeeper Mark Ridgers still has not been offered a new deal with thr club while Roddy Macgregor’s future also remains in doubt.

It has also been reported that goalkeeping coach Ryan Esson has left the club with former Hibernian goalkeeping coach Stuart Garden coming in as his replacement.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have arranged a number of friendlies in the run up to the start of their competitive season.

Friendly matches include away to Nairn County on Tuesday night, with kick-off at Station Park at 7.45pm.

They are then scheduled to travel to Kirkcaldy to face Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park on Saturday, July 6 with kick-off at 2pm.

Their final pre-season match will be against Brora Rangers on Tuesday, July 9 with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s first competitive match will be away to Annan Athletic in the Premier Sports Cup on Saturday, July 13 at 3pm.
