The club announced the 23-year-old's signature on Thursday afternoon as the club made their second new signing this month.

Carson played over 60 times for Blackburn Rovers under-21’s, where he captained the side, before moving to the Northern Premier League East Division One outfit.

He was named the league's player of the year this season and also Morpeth Town player of the year, scoring 14 goals on the way to winning the league and promotion with his club.

Manager John Robertson said he travelled south to watch him in person, before inviting him for a trial in Inverness in recent weeks where he duly impressed.

He said: “David is very neat on the ball, takes care of it well and aggressively tracks back if he loses it. He also has an eye for a goal and I am looking forward to integrating him into the squad."

Last week Inverness signed former Hamilton Academical striker James Keatings on a two-year deal.
