Inverness Caledonian Thistle defender is in talks to join new club
NIKOLA Ujdur could be on his way out of Inverness Caledonian Thistle after it was confirmed he is in talks to join another club.
Manager Duncan Ferguson confirmed that the Australian defender is in negotiations to leave the Caledonian Stadium.
It is believed Queen’s Park are interested in signing Ujdur, with the Spiders already signing former Caley Thistle midfielder Roddy MacGregor earlier today.
Ujdur (23) arrived at Inverness last season and the same day as former manager Billy Dodds was sacked by the club on a two-year-deal.
Despite having another year remaining on his contract, Ujdur has not been present in the squad for either of the pre-season friendlies against Clachnacuddin or Nairn County.
Ferguson confirmed Ujdur is in talks with an unnamed club and is looking to leave Inverness.
Ferguson confirmed: “Niko is in negotiations with another club and he is looking to move.
“It is up to the other club or the deal could be done, but he is in negotiations with another club.”
Ferguson confirmed the news after Inverness Caledonian Thistle defeated Nairn County 3-1 in their second preseason friendly. He said he was pleased with how his young looking team is shaping up for the new campaign.
He said: “The players are taking on the ideas we're looking for. I enjoyed the game.
"The boys passed the ball really well, kept possession and scored some good goals. We could have had five or six. We hit the post and the bar and had a lot of good chances.
"I am made up with the players, who are working extremely hard in training, and taking on ideas on board.
"Many of the younger players have been training with us this year, while being on loan at other teams. They understand what we want.
"I am not going to put any pressure on these young lads. People understand where we're at as a club. I want them to just play their football and hopefully we will get results."
