The victory this afternoon means Inverness will finish in the top-six of the group phase and will avoid the 10 Championship teams who will join in the last-32.

But Inverness did have to come from behind after going a goal behind midway through the first half when Martin Rennie put Forfar in front.

Inverness equalised four minutes after the break when Calum Macleod found the net and three minutes later Adam Mackinnon put the visitors in front.

Luis Longstaff then made it 3-1 in the 63rd minute before player/assistant coach Billy Mckay made it 4-1 in injury time.

Inverness are top of the 32-team group on goal difference and are only one of three teams along with Montrose and Stenhousemuir to have won all five matches.

Inverness will look to make it six out of six in their final group game against Dundee United B at the Sarens PSG Stadium on Tuesday, November 11.

Inverness return to League One action next Saturday when they host Kelty Hearts.
