Strikers Kieran Duffty from Nairn County along with Thomas Lewis from Clachnacuddin in addition to Graham Stewart also from Clachnacuddin have signed up to play for Athletic and could all make their debut at champions Golspie Sutherland in the season opener tomorrow.

It comes after the club lost Paul Gair, Connor Smith and Lewis Smith who have all signed for Tain outfit St Duthus.

Manager Jason Golabek says he is pleased with his new additions and with how his squad looks as a whole for the start of the new campaign.

“We have had to bring in reinforcements and the players that we have brought in are just as good if not better as replacements,” he said.

“There has not been much of an opportunity to get them involved in a game so far due to the summer football league.

“But I have watched them play throughout the summer and have been impressed by what I have seen.

“So I’m confident and also comfortable with what I have for the start.

“The players that have come in have strengthened us rather then weakened us, so we are excited for Saturday.”

Inverness Athletic finished third in North Caledonian League Division Two last season, but the league is merging back to one division of 12 teams this year.

Golabek says travelling to the champions is a tough start, but are looking forward to the challenge.

“We have a few targets in mind for this season and obviously doing well in the cup competitions is a bonus,” he said.

“But we are only taking one step at a time, we are not getting ahead of ourselves, we have a tough run of three opening games so we will see where we are after that and take it from there.”
