INVERNESS Athletic will be back on firm footing again when they host league leaders Invergordon in the North Caledonian League at Inverness Royal Academy’s 3G pitch tomorrow.

After a run of four straight away matches stretching more than 600 miles, Athletic are back home for the first time since the new year.

In a largely disappointing season so far, one of Athletic’s biggest highs was a 3–1 cup win against Invergordon back in December

But Athletic manager Jason Golabek stressed: “They are going for the league and will have a few boys back that were missing that day.

“It will be tough, but we are looking forward to finally having a home game. With our last two games being called off, it will be good to get the boys back playing again. They should be refreshed and ready to go. We will need a good performance.”

Athletic will be without top scorer Phil MacDonald, who is in Australia, but goalkeeper Scott Fraser returns. St Duthus are back in action with a trip to Helmsdale to play Bunillidh Thistle at Couper Park.

Saints will be without Robbie Murray and Will Ross for the match. Elsewhere, Golspie Sutherland host Orkney at King George V Park, while Thurso and Halkirk United clash.
