INVERNESS Athletic aim to complete back-to-back victories for the first time since the opening weeks of the season when they host Lewis and Harris in the group stages of the Football Times Cup at Inverness Royal Academy.

Ryan Hunter has moved to Highland League side Clachnacuddin.

Buoyed by their 6–0 win over Bunillidh Thistle last week, Athletic go into the tie with a lot of confidence.

However, Athletic’s build up to the tie suffered a major blow earlier this week with the capture of star forward Dean Allison by league leaders St Duthus.

“We are sorry to lose Dean as he was an important player,” said caretaker manager Jason Golabek.

“He picked up our players’ player of the year award last year after an outstanding season.

“He will be missed, but we wish him all the best for the future.”

Athletic have also lost the services of goalkeeper Ryan Hunter, who was signed for Clach on Monday night, while experienced forward James Murray has returned to Thurso.

In the meantime, Athletic have taken in a couple of trialists who are likely to feature tomorrow.

Looking ahead to the match against Lewis and Harris, Golabek added: “We are looking forward to it. It’s a cup game so anything can happen.

“But it’s at home and we still have a good squad to choose from. “Hopefully we can get a win.”

Russell MacIntyre and Liam Symonds are both unavailable for Athletic for this one.

Meanwhile Sandy Stephen is expected to continue in goal.

St Duthus and Invergordon go head to head at the Recreation Grounds.

In the other ties, Thurso and Golspie Sutherland clash for the second week running, this time in Caithness, while Bonar Bridge host Halkirk United at Migdale Park.
