Interim chairman resigns from Inverness Caley Thistle with his replacement announced
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed Panos Thomas has resigned as interim chairman and director with immediate effect.
Following Thomas’ resignation, it has been announced that Scott Young will take over as interim chairman.
Thomas was appointed as the interim chairman of Inverness Caledonian Thistle on July 31 as he took over from former chairman Ross Morrison who resigned in June.
The retired orthopaedic surgeon and tutor specialising in sports and knee injuries, joined the board as a director in December 2022.
Thomas moved to the Highlands in 2012 when he became a season ticket holder and recently moved from Nairn to reside in Inverness.
Thomas said it was with deep regret that he was standing down and explained his decision was due to a personal family reason.
He said: "I would like to thank my fellow directors, staff and players at the club, the supporters and shareholders for their tremendous support to me during my short time in the role as Interim Chairman. I will always fondly remember the resilience, tenacity and endeavour of those folk whom I worked with.
"It is now time for me to hand over to others to find a way forward for the club that I have supported wholeheartedly since moving to the Highlands to live.
“I wish everyone at the club the very best for the future."
Young, who is taking over as interim chairman of the club, was appointed as a director at Inverness Caledonian Thistle in August 2023.
It was also confirmed that Allan Munro resigned from the board last week.
The club have confirmed they will be holding an open meeting of shareholders, fans and stakeholders at the Caledonian Stadium on Monday, October 7 at 7.30pm.
