Houston wants Dalby rematch in UFC

Ross Houston is campaigning for a rematch with Nicolas Dalby to take place in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The Highland Martial Arts Centre head coach was defending his Cage Warriors welterweight world championship against Danish interim champion Dalby last weekend, only for the fight to be ruled a no contest.

Both men had suffered lacerating blows – Dalby being cut open above his left eye and Houston getting his nose broken – that saw each fighter don a crimson mask early in the fight.

The issue however was not one of visibility, it was of standing, as the amount of blood spilled on the canvas made for an unsafe fighting environment.

The non-result immediately led to calls for a rematch, and Houston upped the ante in his post-fight interview by saying it should happen in the UFC.

“I really hope it happens,” Houston said.

“This is 10 years I’ve been involved in the sport one way or another, and UFC is the dream."
