Challenge Cup final between Inverness Caley Thistle and Raith Rovers hoped to take place when fans are allowed into stadiums
The Tunnock's Challenge Cup Final between Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Raith Rovers is hoped to take place when fans are allowed back into stadiums.
SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster says it is planned for last season's cup final to take place when supporters are allowed into grounds to watch games again.
But he said it is not planned to announce when the final will take place any time soon.
It was originally planned for the cup final to take place this month.
Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland show Sportsound, Doncaster says the final between Caley Thistle and Raith Rovers will take place and fans will be able to watch.
"We have an obligation to Tunnock's, it is the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Cup from last season," he said.
"That final is outstanding between Inverness and Raith. We had intended for it to take place this month.
"But we also anticipated we would have had fans back in stadiums and clubs would make money on it.
"We will hold off that date and it is not imperative to make it soon given the decision has been made in respective of 2021 competition.
"Our hope is to reschedule it when fans come back in and that can't happen too soon."
