Holm Primary School wins South Highland Cross Country Championship boys' team title





Holm Primary School won the South Highland Schools Athletics Association Boys Championship held at Bught Park in Inverness.

Thirty schools in total entered the annual competition where young athletes compete in a race to introduce them to athletics.

In the girls’ championship, Holm Primary were crowned overall champions.

Kirkhill Primary School claimed second place overall with Milton of Leys finishing third in the team championship.

Farr Primary School won the boys’ title, with Tomnacross in second place and Milton of Leys in third.

Archie Grant was crowned the winner of the boys’ race.

The Milton of Leys pupil claimed the title in a time of six minutes and 10 seconds.

Magnus Stenhouse of Farr Primary School claimed the silver medal.

He finished in second place, five seconds behind the winner with a time of 6:15.

Benjamin Fraser of Farr Primary School claimed the bronze medal.

He finished in third place in a time of 6:29.

In the girls’ competition, Lexie Macrae stormed to victory to claim gold with the third fastest time of both boys and girls.

The Hilton Primary School pupil claimed victory with a time of 6:23.

Kirkhill Primary School pupil Annie English put in an impressive performance to claim silver.

She finished second in the girls’ competition with a time of 6:35.

Jessica Gibson completed the podium when she finished in third place.

She crossed the line in a time of 7:02.
