History was made when the first Inverness derby between Clachnacuddin Women and Inverness Caledonian Thistle Women's Development kicked-off in the Highlands and Islands League.

The debut encounter between the two teams did not disappoint as Clachnacuddin came from 2-0 down to win 4-2 in a six-goal thriller at Grant Street Park.

Betty Ross was the hero for Clachnacuddin as she scored three goals in the space of 16 minutes during the second half.

However Caley Thistle Development took the initiative early on and went in front after 11 minutes thanks to a close range strike from Rachel Tuach.

They stayed in front at half time thanks to goalkeeper Holly MacGregor who pulled off a string of superb saves to maintain her team's lead.

The visitors looked to be in control of the derby when they doubled their advantage in the 54th minute when Jessica Kelly connected with Abbie Mackenzie's corner kick to fire home a low drive from eight yards.

But Clachnacuddin came storming back and reduced the deficit to one four minutes later with Ross launching a thunderous strike from the edge of the box straight into the bottom right corner of the net.

Four minutes later, the 15-year-old levelled terms with another powerful shot from 18 yards which beat the goalkeeper.

Captain Eilidh Anderson then put Clachnacuddin in front with a close range effort in the 71st minute before Ross completed her hat trick three minutes later when she beat the offside trap to run on to a ball from midfield and charged into the box before firing past MacGregor to seal all three points.
