Inverness based Highland Rugby Club is seeking permission for two new 50-seater temporary stands - made from steel shipping containers.

While this might sound strange at first, but these stands come from a longstanding Merseyside company, Eldapoint, that specialises in converting shipping containers for sport and leisure uses such as seating, changing rooms, or canteens.

The Rugby Club is also seeking planning permission to enhance its facilities further by installing new sustainable LED floodlights for the main grass pitch, and upgrading of floodlights to the smaller junior grass pitch.

This will include six 15m tall floodlight columns, PV solar cells on the roof of the existing clubhouse, and installation of a battery storage system beside the clubhouse.

The application is currently under consideration.
