Inverness Caledonian Thistle could set up a Highland derby in the third round of the Scottish Cup if they get past Buckie Thistle, with a trip to Ross County awaiting the winners.

The Staggies were victorious in the last Highland derby, taking place in the Championship in April 2019, but Caley Thistle did knock their rivals out of the Scottish Cup that same season.

Caley Thistle's second round fixture away at Buckie was postponed yesterday due to a frozen pitch, and rescheduled for Tuesday evening.

Nairn County suffered a similar fate, as Station Park was unplayable for their own second round match against Montrose.

The winners of that match, due to take place on Wednesday night, face a trip to Fraserburgh in the third round, with the Broch having seen off Rothes and Banks O' Dee in the first two rounds.

Third round matches are scheduled to take place on the weekend of Saturday, January 30.
