The Inverness club were unable to register a point in the second half in Edinburgh as they returned home only with a losing bonus point.

Highland got off to a dream start when Sean Blair scored a try in the first minute with Scotty Fraser adding the conversion to give them a 7-0 lead.

Watsonian levelled the score on 14 minutes but four minutes later Mike Gordon sprinted down the left wing to score to make it 12-7.

A Fraser penalty and a try on 32 minutes extended Highland's lead to 13 points to make it 20-7.

However Watsonian reduced the deficit to three points with a converted try and a penalty before half time when Highland's Callum Carson was yellow carded before the break.

In a scrappy second half, Watsonian scored an unconverted try to take a two-point lead which they were able to hold on to for the remainder of the game.

The defeat sees Highland drop to fourth in National One as they lost their second game in-a-row in the league
