The hosts took the lead in the first half with an unconverted try from Mike Gordon.

But Marr responded with a try from Conor Bickerstaff, converted by Gregor Paxton, to give them a 7-5 lead.

However Highland went into the interval in front when Ruaridh MacDonald scored a try that was converted by Scott Fraser to give them a 12-7 lead at the break.

But the Troon side piled on the pressure in the second half with a Paxton penalty narrowing the score to 12-10.

Mackenzie Pearce's try regained the lead for the visitors to lead with Paxton's conversion giving them a five point lead midway through the second half.

Highland had chances to score late on but Marr's defence held firm to see out victory.
