Dave Carson is looking for his side not to repeat the same mistakes they made against Heriot’s Blues at Canal Park earlier this season when Highland go on the road tomorrow.

When Heriots made the trip north at the start of October they ran out 33-24 winners, but Carson believes that was more down to Highland’s errors than the Edinburgh side’s quality.

In a sense, the Greens’ head coach can actually take confidence from that match though, as a tighter performance could well be enough to claim victory.

“They scored three easy tries, we let them in,” Carson recalled.

“They’ve got really fast backs who got round the outside of us twice and their third was a mistake.

“They didn’t have to work very hard, which I was disappointed with. We scored four good tries of our own.

“So we just need to tighten up the defence.

“It will be a good game, they’re an open, playing side as well, and they obviously like running in tries, so it will be quite an open game I would imagine.”
