The 20-year-old was one of the stand-out performers in the 1–0 League Cup group stage victory over Kelty Hearts yesterday.

Harper has featured in the first team squad since 2019 as a left back and wing back.

Dodds was impressed with Harper's performance against Kelty saying he is excellent as a wing back going forward. But he has to improve his game defensively from previous seasons, but says yesterday was signs of that improving.

He said: "Nobody bothers about Cammy going forward, he is excellent and it is my job to work on him defensively.

"Against Kelty I thought he brought his full game together, and I was delighted for him.

"It is a big season for him and he knows that, he's going to be a man now which pleases me a lot.

"Cammy has got a big future in the game, but he knows he has to improve defensively.

"He did that against Kelty as he got a test against Alfredo Agyeman.

"But there was only one winner."

Dodds was pleased with the victory over Kelty Hearts, saying it was a tough test, but the way they controlled the closing stages meant they deserved victory.

"We did well and dominated the last 20 minutes.

"We wanted three points out of the game, I would have loved to have won three or four nil.

"But you have to pay credit to Kelty, they are a hard working team and you can see why they won their division.

"They get their heads on everything, sit in deep and front players pick scraps, but their front players are also capable of lighting it up.

"We had a lot of good things and I was pleased with the performance.

"I said at half time I was frustrated because we could do better and I wanted a wee bit more.

"We sorted it out in the second half. We got it rock solid defensively, we built from the back and the players we brought to the club excited me. We deserved our win."
