Inverness Harriers pulled off a clean sweep of all the major prizes at the Remax Nairn 10k.

International road runners John Newsom and Jenny Bannerman took the men’s and women’s titles respectively on Sunday.

The club also scooped the bulk of the North District Championship medals on offer in a successful weekend.

In the men’s contest Newsom (32:27) gradually built up a 16-second lead over team mate and veteran winner Donnie MacDonald (32:43) to take the race victory and the district title in difficult, windy conditions.

Kindeace athlete Gordon Lennox signalled the start of a return to form after injury in third place (33:29) and also completed a perfect team score for the Harriers’ men.
