A new date for the 2021 Inverness Half Marathon has been confirmed by organisers.

This year's event took place in March, just before lockdown restrictions were put in place, but the next Half Marathon and 5K will take place on Sunday, May 16 2021.

It is slightly later in the year to give organisers the best chance of delivering a safe event, with a statement reading: "The safety and welfare of our runners, volunteers, staff, partners and stakeholders is at the heart of everything we do and will always remain our priority.

"This new date gives us a realistic timeframe to ensure the safety of everyone involved and to deliver a safe and amazing event experience."

Early bird entry for both races has been launched today, and will remain open for the rest of October.
