Group urges strong support for Inverness Caley Thistle’s first home game since administration as they take on Kelty Hearts
A FANS group are urging supporters to come out in force tomorrow as Inverness Caledonian Thistle are set to play their first game at home since going into administration.
The Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust are urging fans to show their support for the team when they take on Kelty Hearts in the League One clash at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It will be the first time Inverness will play at the Caledonian Stadium since the club went into administration last week.
It resulted in the club being deducted 15 points and dropping to the bottom of League One, where they are 12 points behind Dumbarton in ninth.
Scott Kellacher was appointed as head coach at Inverness following former manager Duncan Ferguson was axed as part of the administration process.
Now Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust are urging fans to come out on Saturday to show their support for the club.
In a statement, they said: “ICT Supporters Trust are urging all Caley Thistle supporters to get fully behind Scott Kellacher, Billy Mckay and our players this Saturday as we face the challenge of closing the gap at the bottom of League One.
“We have a huge game coming up at home against Kelty Hearts and a big support for Kel’s first home game in charge could make all the difference!
“It’s great to see a local coach taking charge of a squad with many local players in it knowing that they carry our full support as we attempt the great escape!
“We have 25 cup finals to stay in this league so let’s try and get some cup final spirit behind the team and continue the great support that was evident at last Saturday’s away game.”
The Trust have also confirmed that Bar 94 will be open before and after the game, with the full first team set to be at the bar at full time for the player of the match presentation.
They are also organising some fundraising events at the bar tomorrow to raise money for the club.
They wrote: “BAR 94 will be open from noon with the official launch of our partnership with Dog Falls Brewery who will have a range of their beers available on top of what was a very successful soft launch of their Konventional Wisdom Lager and Inverness Black Nitro Stout at our last home game.
“Saturday will also see a number of fundraising initiatives at BAR 94 with the launch of an amazing online prize draw for a unique signed print of Caledonian Stadium plus an auction for a pair of Mark Ridgers’ 2023 Cup Final gloves signed and kindly donated by Mark himself.
“Other unique ICT and Dog Falls prizes will be available via a raffle and prize draws. All proceeds will assist in covering the club’s running costs.
“Following a successful trial, BAR 94 will also open after the game, and the full first team will be joining us, and the player of the match presentation will take place.”
The Inverness Caledonian Thistle crowdfunding page, which was launched last month in an attempt to raise money which tried to prevent administration remains open.
To date it has raised over £87,000.
