Highland Rugby Club can shock teams in National One this season

Highland Rugby Club captain Stuart MacDonald believes the Greens have the quality to cause a few upsets in the forthcoming National One season.

Highland secured their second successive promotion last season as they passed straight through National Two as runners-up.

But with the restructuring of the leagues to introduce the Super6, many do not know what to expect in the coming season.

MacDonald thinks Highland can use that uncertainty to their advantage as they look to get results.

“No-one is really sure what those teams will be like, what sort of standard they will bring and what the split will be between the Super Six teams and their club teams,” MacDonald explained.

“Hopefully we will be able to take advantage of that. We’ve got fairly high expectations, we know that we play a really good brand of rugby."
