The Ross-shire golf course members are foregoing their rounds on Sunday in favour of a key workers day. One of the members, who herself works in the NHS, has gained the support of the

club in inviting golfing key workers from all parts of the community who worked through the lockdowns to a free round of golf.

Club captain Reg Holder says the club wishes to show their appreciation to them for their commitment and dedication.

He said: We are delighted to give recognition to all those who have kept us going throughout the pandemic.

“We have been so fortunate to have had so many continuing the essential work that was required to see us though this difficult time.

“To offer this day to them is one way in which we can show our appreciation.

“We hope that they will enjoy their round and feel that they are and have been valued”.

As well as the free round there will be a number of fun prizes on offer for the players which have been donated by Strathpeffer Golf club members.

Prizes will be given for best drive for men and women.

Prizes will also be given for the nearest shot to the pin most fives on the cards as well as the booby prize.

Drinks and snacks will also be available at the clubhouse.

Organisers are eager for key workers to come forward and take advantage of the offer as they are keen to show their appreciation.

Anyone who wishes to take part in the free event and is a key worker is asked to email: glenesk14@btinternet.com
