Games don't come bigger than Biggar

Highland RFC coach Dave Carson says Saturday’s top of the table clash against Biggar at Canal Park is a game they can’t afford to lose.

The South Lanarkshire side are 14 points clear at the summit of National Two but have played two games more than second placed Greens.

Defeat for Highland on Saturday would mean even if Highland do win their two games in hand they would still be at least eight points behind Biggar.

Highland are still favourites to be promoted to National One with Biggar, but Carson says if they want to go up as champions, they have to make sure the league leaders leave Inverness empty handed.

“We need to take something from this game and restrict Biggar to nothing,” he said.
