Inverness plays host to almost 800 pupils who compete at the 2025 Baillie Cup





NEW champions were crowned at the 2025 Baillie Cup which took place in Inverness on Thursday.

Almost 800 pupils from 35 primary schools across Inverness-shire and Ross-shire competed at Queens Park Stadium at Inverness Leisure Centre.

The day was split into four different categories for schools based on roll numbers for pupils who are aged between Primary One to Four.

Races took place over distances which included 60 metres, 70 metres, 120 metres, 150 metres, 400 metres and 600 metres along with 4x100 metre relays.

Cradlehall Primary School won the Section Two category.

In Section One, Crown Primary School were crowned champions while in Section Two Cradlehall Primary School took the title.

In Section Three, North Kessock Primary School were crowned winners while in Section Four Farr Primary School came top of their section.

In addition to this year’s event, a new trophy was presented with The Cooper Cup presented to the fastest relay team in each section. The trophy was presented in memory of former committee member Christopher Cooper.

The winners of the fastest relay teams were;

Section 1 - Crown Boys 'C' Team

Section 2 - Drakies Boys 'A' Team

Section 3 - Balloch Boys 'C' Team

Section 4 - Balnain & Cannich Boys 'A' Team
