Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker Jordan White believes that if they can keep Dundee United out tonight, the crowd at Tannadice will get frustrated.

United hold a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, where Caley Thistle were reduced to 10 men early in the second half when Liam Polworth was shown a red card.

But White does not believe getting an early goal would be make or break for ICT.

Instead, he says the most important thing will be to stay solid at the back, as Dundee United's fans and players alike will start to get nervous, and then Inverness can take full advantage.

"I think a goal at any point in the game is important," White reasoned.

"The longer it goes on and we keep them out, their crowd will get nervous.

"Obviously we've been better away from home than we have at home this season, but before the sending off on Friday I thought we were the better team.

"We were the more likely to score, so if we can go down there and frustrate them and frustrate their crowd, that's the most important thing because their fans will get on top of them."

It is a reversal of roles from the last round, where Caley Thistle went into the second leg with an advantage over Ayr United.

On that occasion the difference between the sides was two goals though, and Inverness have been better away from home this season.

White points to the recent high profile comebacks in the second leg by Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League and Derby County in the English play-offs as evidence that ICT can still progress to the play-off final.

"They're a good team, we make no bones about that," he insisted.

"We're always confident in our squad, and you've seen a few games over the last few weeks where there have been unbelievable comebacks, so you're never out of it.

"It's a great opportunity, all the boys are desperate to get into the next stage and stake their claim to get up to the Premiership.

"We're really looking forward to it – it's not going to be an easy task, but we're very confident in ourselves."

On a personal level, White has featured in all 51 of Caley Thistle's matches so far this season.

White is ICT's top appearance maker this season, playing at least some part in all 51 of their matches so far.

Tonight he is set to make it 52 out of 52, but he is adamant fatigue will not stop him trying everything to help Inverness through, saying: "Listen, it's tough, it hasn't been easy at all, but these are the games you live for.

"No matter how tired I am, I will give everything out there because it means so much to us.

"Don't get me wrong, all the boys are tired, but you can get through it with adrenaline.

"There's going to be a big crowd there, so that will get us through it as well as what's at stake."
