Inverness Caley Thistle match with Annan Athletic in doubt as pitch inspection to take place on Friday to decide if League One game goes ahead





A PITCH inspection will take place tomorrow afternoon to determine if Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s clash at Annan Athletic will take place on Saturday.

It has been confirmed a pitch inspection will take place at Galabank on Friday at 1pm to decide if the League One clash will go ahead this weekend.

It comes as across Scotland, temperatures have fallen below zero with many parts of the country affected by snow.

The Met Office have issued snow and ice warnings across Scotland that will remain active well into Friday.

In November, Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s match against Queen of the South in Dumfries was postponed due to the impact of Storm Bert.

It left Queen of the South’s ground at Palmerston waterlogged with the match called off three hours before it was due to kick off.

The Inverness team bus had travelled south and stayed in a hotel the night before in preparation for the game.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are in ninth place in League One following their 2-0 win against Dumbarton last Saturday.

New signing Alfie Bavidge opened the scoring with Charlie Gilmour finding the net in the second half to seal the win.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are seven points behind Annan Athletic in eighth place, with a game in hand on Saturday’s scheduled opponents.
