Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle winger Daniel Mackay has joined Championship rivals Kilmarnock from Premiership outfit Hibernian

Former Caley Thistle midfielder Daniel Mackay has joined Championship rivals Kilmarnock on loan from Premiership outfit Hibernian.

Mackay (20), signed for Hibs from Inverness last May on a four-year deal.

He has made six competitive appearances for Hibs and scored in the 2-1 victory over FC Santa Coloma in Andorra in the Europa Conference qualifiers.

Mackay came through the Inverness Caledonian Thistle youth academy and made his first team debut aged 16 in October 2017, and made 57 appearances, scoring 12 goals.

In his final season at Inverness, Mackay scored nine times in 30 appearances and ended the campaign on an impressive run of six goals in 11 matches.

He made his Scotland U21 debut in June against Northern Ireland before gaining a second cap against Turkey in September.

Mackay is a former pupil of Millburn Academy in Inverness.
