Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle player takes charge of Lowland League team Hearts B
FORMER Inverness Caledonian Thistle player Angus Beith has been appointed head coach of Lowland League outfit Hearts B.
The 28-year-old, who was with Inverness Caledonian Thistle for over a year before retiring through injury, has been appointed in charge of the colts side at Tynecastle.
He cut his coaching teeth with younger age groups at Oriam and at Hearts’ Balerno Performance School, while studying for a degree with the Open University.
He then became B Team assistant coach this summer, working alongside then Head Coach Liam Fox, and formed part of the first team’s interim management team prior to Neil Critchley’s appointment.
He is taking the reins of the B Team as Head Coach with the side currently sitting just below mid table in the Lowland League in 13th place.
Speaking on the Hearts website, Beith said: “I’m very pleased to be given the honour and opportunity to lead the B Team.
“I have a good relationship with the squad having coached many of them at youth level and that familiarity has only heightened after working closely with them this season.
“I feel well-placed to know what it takes to make the transition from youth sides into the first team, having made that same journey myself as a young player.
“My focus now is helping these players to reach their potential and I will put everything into it.”
