The 19-year-old was one of nine youth players who spent last season on loan to Fort William.

Dumbarton manager Jim Duffy says Morrison will boost the club’s defensive options after they started the League One season 0-0 at Forfar.

“Donald performed very well while out on loan from Inverness and the feeling is he can make the step up to League One,” he said.

“His arrival ensures competition for places at the back and he is extremely keen to do well with us. We’re looking forward to seeing how he develops.”
