Highland Rugby Club alumnus Paddy Kelly has been awarded a new contract with Glasgow Warriors, signing a two-year deal that will tie him to the club until the summer of 2021.
The 23-year-old made his debut for Dave Rennie's side at the end of 2016, and has made four appearances this season – including a first start in the 43-17 win over Connacht in February.
Tennent's Premiership and Scottish Cup winners Ayr RFC have also called upon Kelly's services, as he split his time this season to get minutes on the pitch.
Kelly came through the ranks at Highland in Inverness, before being awarded the prestigious MacPhail Scholarship and going through the Fosroc Scottish Rugby Academy.
He was also included in the Scotland squad for the World Rugby Under-20 Championship four years ago.
Warriors head coach Dave Rennie expects Kelly to play an increasingly important role next season.
“Paddy impressed us when he got an opportunity in a Warriors shirt this season and was excellent for Ayr in the Premiership," Rennie explained.
“His diligence and professionalism in helping the team prepare throughout the year has been hugely impressive and he’ll be an important player for us next year with so many international absentees.”
