The 33-year-old, who spent 13 seasons at Inverness before being released last season, has signed a one-year extension with the Grantown on Spey outfit as a player and coach.

Doran arrived at Seafield Park last season as a player/coach when former Inverness Caledonian Thistle goalkeeper and coach Ryan Esson was appointed manager.

While a long term injury has prevented Doran from making his debut for Strathspey, he has been ever present in the dugout at Strathspey Thistle. It is hoped Doran will be able to play for Strathspey during the 2025/26 campaign.

Esson says he is delighted Doran has agreed a new deal.

He said: “Aaron’s quality and experience are clear, but it’s the way he’s applied himself around the club during a difficult year that’s been outstanding.

Having him continue as player and coach is a big boost, and we’re all excited to see him back on the pitch soon.”
