Former Inverness Caley Thistle loanee James Nolan released by parent club Manchester United as nine players confirmed to be leaving Old Trafford
Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle loanee James Nolan has been released by parent club Manchester United.
The 19-year-old was a regular in the Highland capital last season, making 33 appearances across all competitions after the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson put in a word to make the loan deal happen on deadline day last summer.
Nolan would score one goal in Inverness colours, the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Cove Rangers early in the campaign, as he helped the Caley Jags avoid relegation despite a 15-point penalty for going into administration last October.
He gained valuable experience north of the border, then, but the Chorley native’s time with the Red Devils has come to an end.
Manchester United’s academy graduate is one of nine players confirmed to be getting released at Old Trafford, alongside luminaries such as Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans.
