The 18-year-old, who has signed a new two-and-a-half year deal at Ibrox, has agreed to join the Kirkcaldy club on loan for the rest of the season after spending the first part of the campaign on loan with Inverness.

Speaking on Raith TV after signing the new deal, Kennedy says he enjoyed playing Championship football with Caley Thistle and wants to continue doing that with Raith Rovers.

"It is a lot different to playing reserve football and I think that is what I needed," he said.

"I went to play at Inverness and I enjoyed it, now I am looking to come here and do more and hopefully get more goals and assists.

"The football they play suits my style, hopefully we can get a few wins and push for promotion."

Kennedy played 10 times for Caley Thistle scoring one goal against Queen of the South in a 3–0 victory.

Raith Rovers are in fourth place in the Scottish Championship on 15 points, three points ahead of seventh placed Caley Thistle.
