FORMER Inverness Caledonian Thistle goalkeeping coach Ryan Esson has been appointed as the new head coach of Strathspey Thistle.

The Grantown-on-Spey club have also announced former Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Aaron Doran has signed as a player coach.

Esson (44) has joined Strathspey Thistle following leaving Inverness Caledonian Thistle during the summer.

He has replaced former manager Bobby Beckwith who was sacked earlier this week after just four games.

Doran also left Inverness Caledonian Thistle this summer after 13 years at the club after he wasn’t given a new contract.

Strathspey Thistle CEO and Owner Grant Mackellar was pleased to bring the duo on board.

He said: "When I took the reins at Strathspey Thistle, I promised that the recruitment drive had started. These two key additions demonstrate our intent to our loyal supporters.

“ And this is just the beginning—we’re only getting started!"
