It was announced on Friday that Haggart has been appointed as Nairn County’s new head of commerical at Station Park.

He has been handed the responsibility for all commercial aspects of the club such as matchday hospitality, pitchside advertising and other fundraising activities.

Haggart has had previous roles as the head of commercial at football clubs, including 10 years at Dundee United.

He has also had similar roles at Dundee, Forfar Athletic, Brechin City and at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Haggart was commercial director at Inverness Caledonian Thistle during two different periods, firstly between February 2020 and September 2022, before heading to Brechin City.

He then returned to Caley Thistle in February 2023 before leaving the club earlier in November.

Speaking about his appointment on the Nairn County website, Haggart says that he is excited with the opportunity he has been given at the Highland League club.

He said: “I was really interested in the opportunity to join Nairn County.

“There is a tidy operation in place and I am looking to build on the groundwork that has already been done.

“I am keen to catch up with as many stakeholders, clients and fans as I can over the next few weeks to see what we can do to drive the club forward.

“I am very much of the view that football is a great vehicle to build partnerships and relationships and to that end, I will be speaking to as many local businesses as I can to see what we at Nairn County can do to help them get their message across.”

Nairn County chairman Mark Kelman has welcomed Haggart’s appointment saying they are looking to build on the commercial success at the club.

He said: “It is great news for the club that we have managed to attract someone of Keith’s background and calibre to this role and I am delighted that he has joined us.

“It is a step forward for the club and will help to take the pressure off the small number of hard-working volunteers who run the club and help us out.

“We have thought about taking someone in to fill this role for quite some time and when someone of Keith’s experience and track record became available, it was too good an opportunity to pass up.

“Our aim is to become one of the most commercially successful clubs in the league with Keith’s help and that will assist us both on and off the park.”

Nairn County are set to be in action in the Highland League tomorrow when they are set to welcome defending champions Buckie Thistle to Station Park.

It is still scheduled to go ahead despite some Highland League matches already being called off.
