Former Inverness Caley Thistle player Matheus Machado signs for Highland League club Rothes as Brazilian leaves Elgin City

Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Matheus Machado has signed for Highland League club Rothes.

The 21-year-oldfrom Brazil is set to join the Speyside outfit pending international clearance.

Machado joined Caley Thistle in 2018 after previously playing for Red Bull Brasil.

He played one league match for Inverness against Partick Thistle as well as appeared for the club in the Challenge Cup.

He left the club in 2020 to sign for Rio Ave in Portugal, but returned to Scotland in 2021 to sign for Elgin City where he made 21 appearances.

He was released from Borough Briggs this summer before agreeing a deal at Mackessack Park.
