Inverness Caledonian Thistle have entered the international break going 2 games unbeaten for the first time this season after their 0-0 draw at home to Partick Thistle on Saturday afternoon.

The result sees the team remain off the bottom of the table ahead of Greenock Morton on goal difference, as new manager Duncan Ferguson continues on his undefeated start at the club following his first game at the Caledonian Stadium.

Attending the match on Saturday was Jake Hayward (19) who has followed the club for just over a decade, holding a season ticket and travelling to as many away games as he can make.

Jake believes the result and performance was a step in the right direction, but agrees that a draw was a fair scoreline by the end of the match.

"Overall a point was more than a fair result between the two teams with neither side doing enough to win the game.

"While we created few attacking chances, I did appreciate the way in which we seemed to control the majority of the game and also the improvement in our defence.

"For me this was a good point earned and another step in the right direction, especially with such a crucial game coming up at Cappielow against Morton after the next international break.

One positive Jake took from the match was a clean sheet for ICT's defence and keeper Mark Ridgers for the first time this season, hoping it can springboard the team in upcoming games.

"Hopefully this first clean sheet can be a turning point.

"So far this season there have been numerous defensive errors costing us points.

"However I felt we put in a credible defensive performance considering that Partick Thistle have a talented front line boasting the leagues top goal scorer Brian Graham.

Praise came once again for new signing Nikola Ujdur, with Jake picking out is solid partnership with on-loan Livingston defender Morgan Boyes.

"Both Ujdur and Boyes are starting to look like a really solid partnership at the back.

"They both also looked comfortable on the ball and it's clear that Ferguson is wanting them to pass it out rather than a hoof up the park.

Although Jake was disappointed with the attacking performance from Caley Thistle altogether, he noted that Duncan Ferguson's attempts to change things up were a promising sign looking forward.

"It was a bit disappointing attacking wise, we didn't really look like scoring.

"We created a few half chances with Gilmour going closest and Longstaff looks to be developing into a useful first team player, his resurgence has been nice to see.

"To his credit, Ferguson did make some attacking tactical changes in the second half by bringing on Lodovica and Brooks and changing the system into a 4-4-2 although it did not have a huge impact on the game.

"I also thought that both Gilmour and Anderson put in another decent shift together in the middle of the park."
