Every penny counts for Inverness Caley Thistle as crowdfunder passes £70,000 in bid to stave off imminent threat of administration





Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s crowdfunder in a bid to avoid administration has passed £70,000.

The number of donations is now approaching 1500, with eight days left to hit their target of £200,000 needed to avoid imminent administration.

The total has begun to stall in recent days after a quick uptake saw ICT race to one third of their goal.

Even if that effort is unsuccessful, though, whatever sum is raised will be kept by the Caley Jags and go towards keeping them running.

GoFundMe’s terms and conditions state that “reaching your goal is not required. With GoFundMe, you keep each and every donation you receive”, meaning that even if ICT fall short of their goal they will keep any donations that have been made.

At a meeting between the Inverness board of directors, advisor Alan Savage and supporters on Monday night, it was acknowledged by the club that going into administration was the most likely outcome.

Savage had previously said initial discussions have taken place with potential buyers, while supporters gave their immediate reaction to the news that administration so likely at Monday night’s meeting.
