The Dutch striker arrived at the Caledonian Stadium earlier this month after playing for Raith Rovers in the Championship last season, helping them to third place in the league and the play-off semi final.

Duku (28) said after speaking to sporting director John Robertson, he was convinced to head to Inverness and play a part in the club attempting promotion to the Premiership this season.

“I had a chat with John Robertson and afterwards I felt good about it,” said Duku.

“I’m someone when I get a feeling about a place as a person, I just go for it. I had a chat with him and everyone has been so good.

“My feeling so far has not been wrong.

“I’ve been settling in well, from day one everyone has been so welcoming, If you feel good you perform good.

“Hopefully, we continue performing well on the pitch as if we perform well on the pitch, everyone will love us even more.”

Duku was also convinced to sign for Inverness after playing against them for Raith Rovers last season.

Raith failed to score a goal in the Championship against Inverness in the last campaign, but did beat them on penalties in the League Cup group stage.

Duku said with experienced signings coming into the squad this campaign, he is confident ICT can go up.

“In my first year in Scotland, Raith got to the play-offs, so now I want to get promotion and bring Inverness back to the Premiership,” he said.

“I think the team is very good and I look at the performances against Raith Rovers. They had the better of us, we didn’t score a goal in three games against them.

“More experience has been brought into the squad, so this team can be very competitive. There is no clear favourite like last year, so the title is there for anyone.”
