Injury troubles well and truly behind Doran

For some football players, summer is a welcome chance to switch off from the sport and not have to worry about the pressure of matches and competing for trophies.

That is not the case for Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s Aaron Doran though, as he would have been happy to see the season continue.

After the best part of two years out of action with injuries, just getting back on to the pitch for the first team was an achievement in itself.

So it is all the more impressive that Doran has returned to action with a vengeance.

Last season the Irishman scored the most goals in a single season than he has at any other point in his career.

He is feeling so positive in fact, that while others will have understandably been tiring after a 52-game season, Doran felt like he was just hitting his stride after last week’s curtain call against Dundee United.

“Overall that was my 48th game, so to spend two years out with injuries then come back and play 48 games, you can see I’ve put my injuries behind me now,” Doran explained.
