Don't rule us out, says Chalmers

Joe Chalmers believes Inverness Caledonian Thistle have what it takes to chase down league leaders Ross County and challenge for the Championship title.

The midfielder is taking inspiration from last season when they went on an undefeated run in their final 11 league games last season picking up 27 points out of 33, recovering from a poor start to the campaign.

After his team’s stunning 3-2 win over Ayr United on Tuesday, Chalmers said Inverness showed they have the quality to beat the best in the division.

He admits the team will need favours from Ross County dropping points, but says nobody can rule Inverness out of the title race.

“It was our aim to get back into the play-offs,” he said.

“But at the same time there is still a lot of points to be played for. If we can keep ticking over the points and keep in touch with Ross County at the top you never know."
