The 19-year-old from Inverness has caught the eye with some impressive performances for club Glasgow Warriors at scrum half, and has been rewarded with international caps at youth level with the under-16s and under-18s – where he even wore the captain's armband.

Now, Gregor Townsend has decided to bring the former Highland minis player into the fold with a view to easing the transition should he make the step up to senior level in the future.

Since signing professional terms straight out of school, Dobie has gone on to make 14 appearances for the Warriors, and he was named the club's young player of the year for the 2019/20 season.
