Inverness Caley Thistle confirm defender Jake Davidson has signed new contract to remain in Highland capital after long-term injury lay-off

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed that Jake Davidson has signed a new contract to remain at the club until January 2026.

The 24-year-old right back initially moved to the Highland capital in the summer of 2023, making 18 appearances for Inverness before spending the latter part of that campaign on loan at Hamilton Academical.

He would return to Caley Thistle in the wake of their relegation to League One, though, playing 20 times before injury brought his season to a premature end last November.

Requiring an operation on his knee after being taken off the Alloa pitch on a wheelchair, it has been a long process for him to approach a return, but he is hoping to be back in action by the end of 2025.

He told Caley Thistle’s media team: “I’m delighted, it’s been a hard seven months for me personally so to get my contract sorted is great and now I’m looking forward to focusing on my rehab.

“I’m six months post-op now, so if everything goes well then hopefully I’ll be close to being back on the pitch by the end of the year.”

In total, Davidson has made 38 appearances for Caley Thistle, scoring twice, and he will be hoping to add to that tally before his new contract expires.
