Inverness picked up their first league win this season with a 4–1 hammering of Cove Rangers at the Caledonian Stadium last weekend.

The victory moved Inverness to second place in the Championship, one point behind leaders Dundee as they remain undefeated this season.

Last season, Inverness agonisingly missed out on promotion to the Premiership when they lost to St Johnstone in the play-off final.

Hyde says there is a spark that has been ignited in the dressing room that is determined to win promotion to the Premiership next season.

He said: “100 per cent that is where we deserve to be, there is a spark of magic about this club. We got a wee taste of it at the end of the season where there was a bit of magic at the club and everyone was together.

“Last season, we felt we could have gone all the way and won the league.

“This season there is a good bunch of lads and we are determined to get there.”

Hyde broke into the Caley Thistle first team last season playing in a number of matches and started against Cove Rangers on Saturday at right back.

Hyde, who was also on loan at Rothes last season, says he is relishing the chance of showing what he can do in the first team.

“I love it and I will play anywhere for the team. I love playing, if the gaffer wants me to play right back, I’m more than happy to.

“I have to bide my time, I have to prove my point and kick on.

“That is up to me.

“I have to take my chance and keep it simple and work hard.”

Speaking about the start to the season, he said: “First two games were disappointing, we needed a win to kick start the season and that is a good performance to kick on for the rest of the season.”
