Wallace Duffy’s initiation to Caley Thistle saw him sing Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up in the dressing room after full time at Tynecastle.

And like the message of the song, he says the team are determined to turn things around and improve their fortunes in the Championship.

Inverness have only picked up four points out of 12 in their first four games in the league campaign.

But after a decent performance at Hearts, along with the impact of experienced players like Aaron Doran and James Keatings back in the team, he says they are confident they will pick up more positive results in the Championship.

“We’re getting boys back to full fitness,” he said.

“The more boys that come back, the stronger the team will look and the bench will look.

“Things can only get better and results can only get better.”

Duffy says Caley Thistle matched Hearts for most of the game saying preventable goals cost them taking anything from Tynecastle.

“They had more of the ball, but based on the first half and the way we defended we could have nicked something at half time.

“But they killed us at the start of the second half with an early goal and then we were on top until they scored with a second goal that should have been prevented.

“But I thought we more than matched them and I’m disappointed we didn’t take any points from there.”

Duffy arrived from St Johnstone in the summer and says he has been impressed with the quality Inverness have in the squad.

“I’m loving it and feel like I’ve been here longer than I have. It’s a young but talented squad with a lot of good youngsters along with older players.

“We want to win the next two League Cup games and get more minutes into the boys before getting back into the league again.”
