Defender feels Inverness Caley Thistle will shoot up table once they find scoring touch
REMI Savage believes Inverness Caledonian Thistle will shoot up the League One table when they find their scoring touch.
The draw leaves Inverness in sixth place, five points off Alloa Athletic at the top.
Savage says Inverness are creating chances up front, but admits they are not taking enough, with only six goals in the league this season.
He says once they can start being more productive in front of goal, they will be up there challenging for top spot.
He said: “We have only lost one game and that was to a penalty. We do look solid defensively and that is credit to the whole team.
“People just look at the defence, but that is credit to the whole team. The strikers are pressurising up front but we do look solid defensively.”
Savage admitted the team were frustrated they didn’t record their second league victory of the season against Cove Rangers on Saturday.
But they will look to be better when they face Stenhousemuir at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday in their next league fixture.
He said: “We are all disappointed. That wasn't up to scratch for us. The good thing about football is we can put it right next week with another home game and hopefully we can get three points.”
An emergency announcement was made at the stadium for anyone in the stands who was a qualified official to come forward so the game could continue.
Jamie Mackinnon, who had refereed a kids game earlier that day, made himself available and was linesman for the remainder of the game, with Will Pare taking charge of the rest of the match.
Savage said there were fears that the match could be forced to be abandoned, but praised the supporter for coming forward and taking over.
However, he said the 10 minute delay to proceedings did kill momentum as they had to settle for a draw.
Savage said: “I have never seen that before. The referee said he had a problem with his calf and there was no fourth official.
"Thankfully there was a lad from the stands and I thought that he did a good job. I have never seen that happen before, so I wasn't sure what was going to happen. There was a worry that it was going to get called off.
“The break did kill our momentum a bit, we dominated the game and I thought we deserved all three points.”
