Organisers announced the decision as a result of the UK Government saying they were aiming to turn the tide on the outbreak within 12 weeks.

The statement said: "Regrettably, in line with all UK Government advice, we are cancelling the 2020 Inverness Summer Darts League.

"The time frame the UK Government are working to, approximately 12-18 weeks, would not allow the Summer Darts events to take place."

It was also announced the Winter Darts League will close down.

The league tables will freeze, promotions and relegations will be awarded to the teams currently in those positions.

The Supreme and Consolation Cup finals are postponed until further notice.

The Inverness Singles/Doubles/Mixed Doubles and Ladies Singles are cancelled indefinitely for the season.
