Caley Thistle have to forget about Challenge Cup semi final for now, says Wilson

Barry Wilson says the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup is at the back of the minds of Caley Thistle players and staff, and they are fully concentrated on getting back to winning ways in the Championship against Dundee.

Yesterday Inverness, who are favourites to win the competition, were given a home semi final against Rangers Colts, scheduled to be played on February 15.

However, coach Wilson, who took charge of Inverness in their penalty shoot-out quarter final win over Clyde, says the Challenge Cup is on the back burner.

He said Saturday’s encounter against Dundee is more important as they look to leapfrog the Dens Park outfit into third place.

“It gives us something to look forward to,” speaking about the Challenge Cup.

“We have a semi final to look forward to. But we need to put that on the back burner because next week is huge.

“Being at home to Dundee is massive.”
