County start pre-season games with victory

GOALS in either half from Steven Craig and Russell Duncan gave Ross County a 2-0 triumph over Brora Rangers at Dudgeon Park in their opening pre-season friendly.

All seven of County's summer signings were in the 19-man squad, while former Caley Thistle defender Stuart Golabek, who also had a spell with the Dingwall club, lined up for Brora.

Craig's strike in the 33rd minute from inside the box gave County the lead, but they had to wait until six minutes from time to secure the victory as ex-Inverness midfielder Duncan punished a short backpass from Golabek to double the visitors advantage.

County's next pre-season game is also against Highland League opposition on Tuesday night when they face Clach at Grant Street Park.
